Outreach

Family First.

Oftentimes, after a man does his time, families are hesitant to allow him back into their home for many reasons; financial hardships, emotional stress, health concerns, trust issues, and fear. During their sentence and upon reentry, T.R.Y. interacts with the client's children and spouse to help the family prepare for a positive reunion.

To assist these families, T.R.Y. partners with Angel Tree, a national organization Prison Fellowship, and provides:

  • A Christmas celebration and gifts for children and their caregivers
  • Summer programs for kids to give caregiver support
  • Neighbor Day events in high-risk neighborhoods
  • An annual National Night Out Against Crime block party providing children with backpacks and school supplies
  • Thanksgiving food baskets
  • Birthday cards
  • Neighbors-in-Need with furniture through partnership with C.O.R.E.
  • Quarterly correspondence with the incarcerated parent
  • Referrals to community services and sharing the Gospel to uplift their spirits
